How focusing on superordinate goals can motivate goal pursuit
Achieving goals is typically seen as a success and something positive. However, achieving goals can also be negative because it can signal people that they have done enough leading to a rest and a lower motivation to show further actions. This is unproblematic in the case of short-term goals. Many goals, however, require a continuous effort over a longer period of time. This research project employs with the advantages of abstract, superordinate goals.
